Hero Splendour Electric 2027 – Expected Price, Features, Range & Full Review

Hello brother, hope you are doing good. Today I want to talk about something that many of us in small towns like ours (yes, I’m thinking of places like Patna) will find interesting — the upcoming Hero Splendor Electric. In this article I’ll try to explain what I know so far, what to expect, and why this bike could be a big deal for people like us.

What is Hero Splendor Electric

The Hero Splendor Electric is the electric-bike version of the famous commuter bike line Hero Splendor. The maker, Hero MotoCorp, is working on this project and aims to launch it by 2027.

They say this will be their first mass-market Hero Splendour Electric — not some expensive showpiece, but a practical everyday ride for common folks, daily commuters, college students, workers going to office or market, riders who want simple commuting without petrol worries.

Why Electric Splendor — Hero’s Big Step

You know how “Hero Splendour Electric” in India is known for being cheap to maintain, mileage-friendly and easy to ride. The Hero Splendour Electric seems to want to take that same trust and familiarity and bring it into electric vehicles.

They are reportedly working on the project for nearly two years now at their tech centre in Jaipur.

Hero Splendour Electric is also aiming high — they expect to sell about 2 lakh units per year of this Splendor Electric once it launches.

So, this is not a small test. This could be the start of a big shift where electric bikes become common in small towns and cities.

When Will It Come & What Price Might Be

From what I have read, the estimated launch is around 2027.

As for the price — some sources (though not official) estimate the starting price around ₹ 99,000 (ex-showroom) in India.

If it comes around that price, think about it: a trusted brand, electric ride, and price not far from what many good petrol bikes cost. For our town (like Patna), the on-road price may be slightly higher after taxes & local fees, but still it seems reasonable.

What We Know (And What We Don’t) — The Reality Check

Because this is still under development, some details are not yet final.

What we know (or at least what media reports say):

  • The hero is serious about an electric Splendor — code named “AEDA”.
  • The plan is not just one electric bike — Hero Splendour Electric has multiple EVs lined up. Splendor Electric for daily commuters. Also, other electric bikes equivalent to 150 cc and 250 cc bikes, for youth or those wanting more power.
  • Hero Splendour Electric plans to sell roughly half a million electric vehicles annually (from their new EV portfolio) by 2027–28.

What we don’t know yet (so take with caution):

  • Official confirmation of battery capacity, range, charging time, top speed — nothing public yet.
  • No confirmed colour options, variants details, or booking start date.
  • The “expected price ₹ 99,000” is not official — likely an early estimate. Real on-road prices (in our town) could vary.

So yes — do not believe rumours about “already available in dealerships” or “300 km per charge at ₹ 50,000”. Those claims are most likely false or unverified.

What It Could Mean for Us — Why I’m Excited (and You Should Be Too)

Picture this — you are a daily commuter in Patna. Petrol prices going up, maintenance and fuel bills adding up. If Hero Splendour Electric Splendor Electric comes at ~₹ 1 lakh (or slightly more), it could transform commuting for many.

  • No petrol cost every month, maybe very low charging cost — good for labourers, college students, daily travellers.
  • Familiar “Splendor feel”: if Hero manages to keep comfort and practicality while making it electric, it could become very popular among middle-class families.
  • Quiet, clean ride — especially good in city traffic or narrow lanes of small towns.
  • Less maintenance compared to petrol bikes — fewer moving parts compared to petrol engine, simpler mechanics (hopefully workmanship and spares affordable too).

If Hero does it right, this could be a game-changer for small towns and rural India, where petrol price and maintenance often discourage owning a bike.

What I Wonder & What I Hope Hero Will Do

As a regular guy who hopes to buy or recommend something to family/friends, I have some hopes and some questions:

  • I hope Hero Splendour Electric gives a decent battery range — maybe 80–120 km per charge would be good for daily use.
  • I hope charging options are easy — many people in small towns don’t have fancy chargers at home. Maybe a removable battery, or support for charging at shops/garages.
  • I hope the on-road price in towns like ours remains affordable — if local taxes, registration, etc don’t make it too expensive.
  • I hope the service network spreads — because people trust Splendor for its easy maintenance and spares availability. The electric version should also get the same reliability.

My Point of View — What I Think & What I Would Do

For a long time, I felt electric bikes were mostly for big cities — good roads, charging infrastructure, awareness. But now, seeing Hero Splendour Electric bring Splendor Electric, I think this could be the first big step to bring EVs to small towns.

If I were buying a new two-wheeler today and I get to choose between a petrol commuter bike and Splendor Electric (once launched), I might wait — because electric seems like the future, especially if maintenance and fuel cost will be lower.

For young friends, college students, or daily workers — this bike could be very practical. For families also, if parents or siblings need a simple commuter, electric makes sense.

So, in my opinion: yes — wait for Hero Splendor Electric, watch its final price and specs, but keep hope. Because this could be one of the best affordable electric bikes for common people in India.

Conclusion

Brother, the upcoming Hero Splendor Electric feels like a promise — a promise of affordable, practical, and clean daily transport for common people. Hero’s reputation, combined with the popularity of Splendor, could make this EV a big hit in small towns and cities.

But — and this is important — we should stay realistic. Until official specs, price and real-world reviews are out, don’t trust rumours.

If everything goes well, this bike could bring real change. As someone living in a smaller city, I personally look forward to it.

Let’s hope by 2027 we see many Splendor Electric bikes roaming our streets.
