Hyundai IONIQ 9: A Complete Overview

Hello Friend And Welcome Back To Another Blog!!!

Today I want to talk about the car that’s been on my mind lately — the Hyundai IONIQ 9. I’m just a regular person, no “car-guru” or anything fancy, so I’ll keep it simple and share what I found and what I think about it.

What is this car?

So brother, the Hyundai IONIQ 9 is a big deal for Hyundai. It’s their flagship electric SUV — a full electric vehicle (EV) with three rows for passengers, built on the advanced E-GMP platform. Do you know it’s very special or unique? Because Hyundai is going all-in with this: big battery, long range, big interior.

Price in our town

In our town (Patna, Bihar) or more broadly India, here’s what I gathered. The estimated price for this car is around ₹1 crore (ex-showroom).Some sources say it may go up to ₹1.20–1.30 crore depending on variant. So if you’re thinking, “What will it cost in our city?”—expect the ballpark of ₹1 crore+ before additional on-road costs.

Key features that caught my eye

Friend, here are the things I liked (and think you might too) about the Hyundai IONIQ 9:

  • It has a 110.3 kWh battery pack globally (so big battery).
  • The claimed range is up to 620 km (depending on variant/condition) which is excellent.
  • It can seat 6 or 7 people, so if you have a family and kids + luggage, this is a very “family friendly” EV.
  • Design wise: very modern, boxy but sleek, pixel lighting elements (cool LED stuff) and big wheels (19-inch up).
  • Inside, very techy: large screens (dual 12.3-inch display) for instrument/information, high quality feel.
  • Advanced safety and driver assistance features (ADAS). So you’re getting both luxury and practicality.

My “real-life” take-aways

Brother, imagining this car in everyday use here in Bihar:

  • If you drive with family to nearby towns or go on holiday trips, the 6/7 seating + long range is a big plus.
  • Charging infrastructure: Since it’s an EV, you’ll need to plan for charging. But with such a big battery and decent claimed range, the “range anxiety” is less (though local charging points still matter).
  • Cost of ownership: While the upfront price is high, because it’s electric you may save on fuel (petrol/diesel) and maintenance in the long run. But you’ll also have to think about service and maybe availability of parts (since it’s a premium EV).
  • For city use in Patna: it would be a bit of a “head-turner” car — people will notice it. So if you like making a statement, yes. But if you’re more budget-conscious, then you might focus on smaller EVs.

Areas to think about (because nothing’s totally perfect)

  • Even though range is good on paper, real conditions (traffic, heat, AC usage, etc) will reduce it. So don’t assume you’ll always get “620 km” in Indian roads.
  • Cost of charging at home and public chargers – you’ll need infrastructure (home charger installation, electricity cost).
  • Price is very high — so it’s for the premium set of buyers.
  • Launch in India: The car is “upcoming” for India, not fully launched yet, so some details (service, variants, exact price) may change.

Why I think this car will make sense for some people

So brother, if I put myself in the shoes of someone living in Patna, here’s when I’d say yes to this car: if you have a family with 3-4 kids/parents, often travel out of city on weekends, value comfort + technology + eco-friendly driving, and you can manage the budget.

If I compare to my current daily car (imagine a petrol sedan), this Hyundai IONIQ 9 gives me: more space, zero tail-pipe emissions, latest tech, and something futuristic. That “wow” factor matters.

Colours & style

They say the car will come in multiple colours (Hyundai usually offers a good palette). I couldn’t find a full list yet for India, but globally expect “modern” finishes (maybe matte/metallic). It’d be nice to pick a bold colour if you want to stand out — e.g., “matte grey”, “midnight black”, maybe “pearl white”.

3. Technology & Features

Now, this car is loaded with tech — and let me tell you what impressed me:

  • Twin 12-inch displays (one for the instrument cluster, one for infotainment).
  • Massage seats, ambient lighting, many USB-C ports (even 100W) for second & third rows  Hyundai IONIQ 9.
  • Safety: 10 airbags, ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems) like automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist.
  • Charging & vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability: you may be able to plug in other devices from the car.
  • Colours: Some special finishes globally — e.g., Celadon Gray Matte/Metallic, Ionosphere Green Pearl etc.

Final thoughts

So friend, to wrap up: the Hyundai IONIQ 9 is very promising — big battery, good features, three-row seating, premium feel. The price is steep (₹1 crore+), and you’ll need to check how things like charging infrastructure and servicing work in your town. If you’re looking for a “car of the future” and can stretch the budget, it’s a strong contender. If you’re budget-sensitive, you might wait for “less expensive EVs” of Hyundai or other brands.

My Point of View (Aam Aadmi’s take)

If I were you or me thinking about buying this:

  • If your budget allows ~₹1 crore+ and you really value tech, family space, future-proofing, then yes this is a very good option.
  • If I lived in Patna and often drive with family, or go for weekend trips, then this car would be more than just a commuter — it would be a weekend warrior + family luxury ride.
  • But: If I mostly drive short city distances, budget is limited, or charging access is weak, then maybe a smaller EV would make more sense. Because the Hyundai IONIQ 9 size, price and battery are premium territory.
  • Also: Check the service network in your area, charger availability, home installation cost etc — sometimes these “extras” matter as much as the car.

Conclusion

So brother, the Hyundai IONIQ 9 is a bold, premium, family-friendly electric SUV. It offers big battery, serious range potential, modern tech, and strong comfort. The price in our town will be steep (~₹1 crore+), and you’ll need to consider infrastructure and practicalities. But if you go for it, you’ll definitely drive something special.
